this, of course, came from perez hilton, my source for all wacky celebrity stuff. apparently, dane cook faced eviction after not cleaning up his dog’s shit. he countered the suit with the claims that because his muses, john belushi and steve martin, used to reside in the building, he can’t leave the apartment for fear it will cause him some sort of ‘comedy block’ and ruin his career.

really, dane cook? REALLY? why didn’t you just pick up your dog shit to begin with? is it THAT hard?

anyway, perez is now reporting that cook settled with the apartment owners and is now cook is now living in a $7 million house in the hills. so much for those “muses,” huh?

so zyrtec-d, my life-saving allergy medication for the past 5 years, is now over the counter. it’s not just zyrtec anymore, my friends; zyrtec-d is over the counter, as well. i did not know this until today’s debacle at the walmart pharmacy.

so i call in my prescription and go to good old wally world to pick it up. it totals to $84 for 60 pills. wtf. i figured that maybe the insurance company had thrown the drug off the 2nd tier and had put it on the 3rd tier (which, for my company, means that those have the highest co-pays, if the company will even pay for it at all). but no. get this…

apparently, since zyrtec-d is over the counter now (but you STILL have to get it THROUGH the pharmacy, like all medicines that do that, what the fuck), the insurance company won’t pay for it. so can someone tell me WHY on EARTH is it still available as a prescription drug? fortunately, i didn’t have to pay for it; they just gave me a box of 24 zyrtec-d for $20ish. but really, now, why on earth would it be offered as a prescription at all if it’s the exact same dosage over the counter?

furthermore, i say we don’t refer to these “over the counter” drugs by that title anymore. they’re not over the freakin’ counter. i can’t just grab it off the shelf and buy it. i still have to see a pharmacist about getting the stuff.

it’s. not. over. the. freakin’. counter.

gah.

…for blogging awhile back about child models and for posting links to some child models’ myspace profiles that were not private at the time. i’m going to remove the post in order to get people to shut the hell up, but i’ll be happy to post their kind comments contributed below the cut for you all to enjoy. my opinion is my opinion, and if you think i’m a hypocrite, well, frankly, my dears, i don’t really give a shit. furthermore, i’d like to thank you all for the linkage, guys! way to boost my page rank. *thumbs up*

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ANGRY FOLKS: let me first make it clear that i was NOT paid for that entry (as someone suggested), and that i did not insult any child. i personally feel sorry for these children because i don’t wish for them to be exploited by their parents (i know you’re seething by now, so let me finish), HOWEVER, since you all have made it perfectly clear for me and all 8 of my regular readers that this is NOT what you are doing by creating individual myspace pages for your children, then so be it. you’re not exploiting your kids; your not a bunch of “stage moms”…if that’s what you all say, then, well, okay. i genuinely hope your kids are happy.

and to the various remarks about my nieces, yes, i’ve posted pictures of them, but neither i nor my sister have created their own personal myspace pages to advertise their “services” for magazines, commercials, whatever (their parents don’t “offer” any of their kids’ “services” in the first place). let me get this straight here: the thing that bothered me the most about those pages was that i believe that their parents made the children their own personal myspace pages in order to show off their kid, and– dare i say it?– advertise their children’s faces. i personally believe that half these kids are too young to make a serious decision for themselves such as this career path. BUT it’s YOUR child and it’s YOUR right to do that for your kid, just as this is MY blog and MY right to post MY opinion on it.

and now for the really serious stuff: i DO apologize that if someone out there were to google “pedophile,” they would have found, after surfing through MANY pages of their search results, a link to your child’s myspace page on my blog. for that, i admit that i made a careless mistake and i am honestly sorry. i do not want and never meant for any child to be a target of child predators. you parents keep pressing, though, that your child’s page is private, and this will prevent potential predators from having access to your children’s photos and information. because i was able to view your child’s page ages ago when i wrote that entry, chances are it was not private at the time. i would have had no access to it otherwise. however, a head’s up for you all: myspace is not entirely safe. not only is it loaded with security flaws and bugs, but i’m sure you all know that just because a clean “background check” is returned on a person who seeks to be your myspace friend does not mean that they will not harm your child. furthermore, you seriously might want to spend more of your time googling your own kids…i’m sure i’m not the only blogger on the entire internet who has found themselves rather disgusted with such myspace pages. and i’m not being a smartass about that; i’m being 100% serious.

ever since i was a little girl, i’ve been fascinated with this structure, so you can imagine my surprise and amusement when i found it online. there’s a castle in lexington, kentucky, and i’ve seen it every christmas since i was little. i used to be convinced a very rich couple lived there, and then i found out later that it was deserted. kind of sad, eh? now it’s being renovated and used for events and a lush bed and breakfast, according to their official site. i’ve always wondered what the inside looked like, so imagine my delight when i found wikipedia linked to photos of the interior of the kentucky castle. excitement. =) haha.

so for the past few months, i’ve been laying low on payperpost, mainly because this website has no page rank whatsoever, and there are very few opportunities available for bloggers with page ranks of 0-2. so today, i login and find my goldmine: a $20 opp that requires me making a video for spoofcard. well, i see dollar signs for a 5 minute video and am pleased when i find out that the opportunity was reserved. i start really reading up then on the product i’m about to advertise, and then i find out what it’s really about.

the spoofcard folks want you to believe that you can use these caller id-fooling calling cards for phone pranks, but in reality, who these days cares enough about making a harmless prank to spend money on a card like that? if they’re spending cash on caller-id-fooling cards, they’re in it for a bigger reason, be it identity theft or a hardcore prank that could get a lot of people in trouble.

what kills me is how the spoofcard people included in their opportunity listing various youtube videos about the subject of caller ID spoofing, showing how congress has even gotten involved in this stuff. and i’m thinking…and you really expect me to advertise this, something of which i would NOT like to be on the receiving end?

$20 or not, i’m sorry, but spoofcard, you can go advertise somewhere else. your product is bullshit.

justin always finds the coolest stuff online. tonight, he told me about the wikipedia scanner that tells the location of all sorts of edits within wikipedia. check out the organizations listed and the types of things they’ve edited. it took me a minute to figure out how to do this, so i’ll break it down for you in basic steps:

1. go to the main page. 2. i selected from the organizations on the right of the page just for a general search. but you can type in crap if you feel like it. anyways. 3. on the following page, find an edit that interests you and click on the corresponding number under the “diff” column. it’ll show you in a separate frame the edit that took place in before and after shots. cool, yes? yes.

Saturday, an officer from the police department was approached in the parking lot of Wal-Mart regarding what might be a dog locked in a vehicle’s trunk. The keys were in the Chevy Impala and officer opened the trunk to find a dog in a cage in the trunk.

The owner came out and told officer he had just bought the dog and was unaware that he should not put it in the trunk. It was determined the dog had been in the trunk for around 45 minutes.

Michael Adam Bryant, age 20 of Baxley, was issued a citation for cruelty to animals.

The dog seemed to be okay and was placed in the back seat before Bryant left the scene.
