i’m so excited that it’s getting colder. some people prefer to take Mediterranean cruises once it gets cold to escape the weather, but i’m content sitting around my apartment, bundled up in a blanket, drinking coffee.

i slept pretty much all day today. i woke up this morning, and i felt terrible…nauseated, achy, gross…so i called in. i slept until 2:30 and then slept some more from about 5:30-8. i probably won’t sleep too well tonight. oh, well.

i’m watching season 4 of the office on dvd. landon borrowed it shortly after i got it, and i went nearly a month without this set…so now it’s time to enjoy it to its fullest. right now, i’m on “survivor man.” i love this one.

bek’s over here doing homework, and jacob’s coming over in a bit. i love our little trio. it’s so cozy and happy. jacob’s also bringing his roommate’s rat, norma jean. she has a big pink ball to run around in. carli’s going to love that. =P speaking of, carli was so sweet today while i slept. she slept right by my side the entire morning, even sticking her paw out on me for awhile. it’s rare that she’s that sweet. i loved it, though.

i bought alex’s year-old external hard drive for $10 (it’s 80G, which should allow me to clear up some crap on my computer at least until i can get a bigger drive). so while i was letting it reformat around 11pm, i fell asleep. and i woke up around 3 and it had been finished for quite some time. and i fell back asleep. and then i woke up around 5 and decided to move some stuff on it. and now i’m still tired.

my enrollment verification didn’t go through when i turned the form in on august 20th. i don’t know if it got lost in the mail or what (great.). i submitted a new one early last week, so if the health insurance company doesn’t receive it by the 30th of this month, i’m insurance-less, and that’s pretty much going to suck. i’ve got options for different health plans at my job, but i’d have to wait for open enrollment until i could apply for them…and i have no idea when open enrollment is or how insurance operates. growing up is some creepy stuff.

mark got a new hag. as much as i try to brush it off, it makes me kind of sad.

according to the weather channel, it’s going to be 56 degrees the night of october 2nd. ahh. excitement. i’m so glad the fall’s coming. i was getting really sick of the nasty heat. fall always reminds me of band. i think beka and i are going to try to start going to the football games with the greg group. haha, “greg group.” i don’t really know what else to call them all. anyway, it’d be really fun.

my hard drive’s done transferring mp3s. excitement abounds…

in other news, i lost 5 pounds this week. and that absolutely made my day.

wow, wax just messaged me on msn. you guys remember him, pepijn’s old roommate? haha. i miss him. “rubbish bins.” i used to think he was so hot.

i have begun to think i am becoming a bum. i do my school work and so far, i’m doing pretty well (all A’s), but i don’t feel like i’ve really put a lot of effort into it at all. i have a feeling everything’s going to creep up on me and kick me in the ass all at once. like, today, all i’ve done is sleep. i got up for a little while to work on a project and i went back to sleep. i need to be reading a lot of stuff. part of me wonders if taking 3 grad school courses at one time was even a good idea, but i know i just need to push myself. i want this degree completed in 2 years. i’m so sick of being in school, working TOWARD a career. i’m ready to HAVE the career. unfortunately, it seems i’m too lazy to make it really happen…as of late, at least.

…20 minutes after writing the above, i just read through a classmate’s submitted assignment and i’m feeling a little bit better about myself. =P don’t tell anyone i said that.

i wish it would rain. i don’t want fay-style rain again, but it would be nice to have a thundershower or 5.

you guys know how ridiculous i am about hurricane season. well…check this out. it was an advertisement on the weather channel’s website. you can pretty much make your own hurricane, controlling the wind speeds, amount of debris, etc. it was pretty fun. enjoy.

but seriously, it’s hot down south. H-O-T. i know it gets in the 90s in other places in the world, but you don’t know what “hot” really is until you’re in the dog days of a south georgian summer. the humidity levels are insane, and even if it were to rain, nothing would cool off because it’d be even more nastily humid! have you ever been in a place where it was too hot to swim? yeah, that’s how it is here right now. the pool floats can stay in the utility closet; i’m staying inside as much as possible. i bet the water’s not even cool anymore, anyway.

i think i’m going to move to antarctica.

in other news, i have a 3:30 midterm and reading journals due for the same class all at the same time. have i studied? no. have i finished the journals? i have 2 left…2 pages each. so i’m going to try to read this crap at work and come home at 1 and type it all up really quick. then i’m going to study my tail off the best i can until 3pm. wish me luck…midterm’s 20%. this class is kicking my butt so far. =(

in other news, we’ve got an 80% chance of storms tomorrow. we’re gonna drown!

i feel sorry for all the people who have to work outside today, and for all the animals who have owners who won’t bring them inside. =( i hope they’re both (the people and the animals) all getting a lot of water and as much shade as possible. i also feel sorry for thomas, whose AC is broken in his car, and he’s taking a trip to douglas today to take care of some stuff. if you didn’t have to get your oil changed, i would’ve let you take my car. =(

i just woke up to the sound of thunder. i noticed it was pretty dark in my room, so you can imagine my surprise when i read on the clock that it was 8:10. one look out the window, and i noticed how eerily dark it was. how exciting! anyways, it’s just a severe thunderstorm, and our entire area’s covered in red on the doppler, but you know how i am; i love this shit. so now i’m up, watching the doppler, and keeping my window shades open…i LOVE to watch this. i love the thunder. man, i love storms. wow, that lightning is close.

and how about i just got a call from VSU campus security, issuing a warning about this storm, saying it was close to campus and to stay indoors. okay…

and that clap of thunder sounded like some really amazing bass. wow. it’s really coming down; there are already absolute puddles of water and it’s only been raining for about 6 minutes.
