i should probably be reading articles for this bibliography right now, but somehow, facebook and blogging just seem more attractive. isn’t that how it always is, though?

i hate it when people don’t say “thank you” for things. i just handed this girl some headphones and she didn’t say “thank you.” it pisses me off.

i’m trying to think of christmas gifts for folks. i still need to buy emily a birthday present along with christmas gifts for daddy, grandma, beka, jacob, keegan, amanda, and rachel. several folks (grandma, bek, and rachel) are partially covered, but i don’t want to leave them with itty bitty presents and nothing more.

i think my parents are getting me wii fit for christmas. i’m kind of excited about it. it’s a pretty fun game, and while i’m willing to spend $50 on animal crossing, i’ve never been ready to spend nearly $100 on wii fit, so i’m glad they’re getting that for me. they also got me a really nice coat from the coat sale in douglas the other weekend. it’s a charcoal grey peacoat…i’m in love with it. i’m collecting jackets, it seems, lately. it’s kind of nice. i’m sure that my employer will give out some sort of promotional business gifts this year to cover any sort of gift debt to its employees. our work christmas party is this friday, but i haven’t decided whether or not i’m going to go. i RSVP-ed as a “yes,” but denise wants to hang out friday, and i have class on saturday, so i might just miss out on it and leave my plate as more for others to eat.

ANYWAY, maybe i should read about the digitization of libraries now…um, yay?

carli sue is SO MEAN. i think it’s because she’s so mean, though, that i still like her. she bites and claws all the time. she hisses and growls at people for no good reason. i think i may take her to the vet next month to see if she can be put on some sort of kitty prozac. damn.

she’s about 8 months old now, and she’s gotten sort of fat. she’s the size of her mom but fatter. she’s fucking around underneath my entertainment center now. i have no idea what she’s playing with.

it’s almost noon, and i have a lot of homework due on monday. have i completed any of it? absolutely not. story of my life. i’ll be glad when december comes. wait, who am i kidding? i’ll be glad when this year is over.

i’m so excited that it’s getting colder. some people prefer to take Mediterranean cruises once it gets cold to escape the weather, but i’m content sitting around my apartment, bundled up in a blanket, drinking coffee.

i slept pretty much all day today. i woke up this morning, and i felt terrible…nauseated, achy, gross…so i called in. i slept until 2:30 and then slept some more from about 5:30-8. i probably won’t sleep too well tonight. oh, well.

i’m watching season 4 of the office on dvd. landon borrowed it shortly after i got it, and i went nearly a month without this set…so now it’s time to enjoy it to its fullest. right now, i’m on “survivor man.” i love this one.

bek’s over here doing homework, and jacob’s coming over in a bit. i love our little trio. it’s so cozy and happy. jacob’s also bringing his roommate’s rat, norma jean. she has a big pink ball to run around in. carli’s going to love that. =P speaking of, carli was so sweet today while i slept. she slept right by my side the entire morning, even sticking her paw out on me for awhile. it’s rare that she’s that sweet. i loved it, though.

there are a lot of things i want but don’t need and things i need but won’t buy because i’d be more likely to buy what i want over what i need. i figured i’d post them just for future reference on my own behalf, because god knows i forget stuff like there’s no tomorrow.

i want a 32gig ipod touch. they’re so gorgeous and provide many of the capabilities of a palm pilot. i’m glad apple’s done away with the clickwheel for these beautiful pieces of technology…the wheel is a pain in the bum to use to navigate my ipod’s music collection. i’d rather just type in what i’m looking for…que facil! [insert accents where needed]

a navigation system for my car would be nice. i have no idea where i’d mount it, but i have NO sense of direction, so one of these bad boys would help me make my way around unfamiliar territories. this would be especially beneficial once i graduate, leave valdosta for good, and move to wherever i find a job.

i want an upscaled DVD player. the one i’ve got is an 8-year-old POS that won’t play burned DVDs and effs around with my surround sound. i have this nice HDTV and all these DVDs. i don’t want to make the conversion from DVD to blu-ray because of the cost. right now, a player that upscales my collection would be just fine.

finally, a passport would be great to have. i don’t plan on traveling out of the country anytime soon (well, unless the election goes awry), but i think that since they’re good for 10 years or so, it’d be nice to have one. that’s a lot of money to spend at once for something you don’t readily need, though. but if for some reason i had to suddenly travel out of the country, it’d be better to have it ready.

but enough blabbering about random wants. time to stare at the wall and wait for 5:30 to roll around.

i dyed my hair that dark shade of brown last night. i’m pretty excited to have it this color again…it makes me feel prettier. that being said, the weather’s been decent here lately. i could actually go out last night with makeup on and not have to worry about sweating it off and having to buy some sort of acne treatment later on to cure my makeup-sweat dilemma. beka and i went to first friday with greg, shae, and some of shae’s friends. we had a decent time, but we had more fun later on when we went to shae’s friend’s house. there was a small group there– about 8 people max– just drinking and having a good time. i enjoyed my bottle of beringer’s. life was grand. bek and i ended up leaving around 1 since she had to get up this morning. i really love small get-togethers like that. i’ve gotten to know shae better over the past week, and i really like her. she’s a great person with a tremendous personality, and she’s so super nice and funny. greg got a good ‘en.

today, i’m going to stop by firehouse to talk to ken about my next tattoo. i’m really, really excited about it. if i can handle the pain, i’m going to get my others touched up on the day i get my new one. i’ll be a sore bitch for a week, limping around with a fresh tattoo and 2 touched-up ones all at once, but it’ll be worth it. my windmill tattoo didn’t heal properly, so the color’s not as vivid as it could be. i’m really looking forward to getting it fixed, but i’m certainly not looking forward to the pain. getting a tat touched up hurts worse than getting it done, and it hurt REALLY bad to get…so ouch!

i cannot for the life of me pay attention today in class. i don’t want to be here; i just want to be back in the bed, asleep. i kept waking up last night to weather alerts on my tv, and i don’t think it even rained a drop! i only have 3 classes today, and i’m in peterson’s right now. i wore shorts today, so my thighs are sweating and sticking to the seat. it’s gross. i’m so sick of the heat. i already hate hot weather, but it seems that lately, it’s been just unbearable. 100+ heat indexes everyday…good god, i’m ready for winter already. at least you can bundle up then instead of having to peel off clothes. speaking of clothes, why do people dress up for class? i never look cute for class. i couldn’t give a shit less what i look like. i’m not here to impress.

i didn’t read for aesthetics. i’m hoping we’ll continue watching the video we watched the other day so we can avoid any discussion on the readings. like jade mentioned in her entry yesterday, i hate participation grades. if i’m paying you to teach me, don’t make part of my grade deal with coming to class or paying attention or whatnot. we’re adults now. if we don’t want to listen, we shouldn’t have to do so; let it just reflect on our grades.

i’m sitting in the back right now, so my desk is crammed against the wall, and the entire row i’m in is crammed together. i really wish somebody had straightened that out before i got in here. it’s rather uncomfortable having to sit diagonally to type. i can’t even cross my legs. fuck.

my mouth is dry, but no amount of water will fix that, it seems. it’s driving me insane. is it just me, or does it feel like it’s taking forever for the weekend to get here? i mean, damn. really, now, can we speed things up a bit?

i really hope i reach my 10% on monday when i weigh in. i’m going to try to inhibit my sodium intake this weekend for the best possible results. i’m only 2.2 pounds away from it. so close, sooo close. and after that, i’ll just be re-losing all the weight i lost 2 years ago. and then after THAT, i can finally lose the rest and look better than i ever have before. keep your fingers crossed. i’m really wanting to do it this time. i calculated it all the other day, and i think i have 76 pounds left to go. thinking about losing that much weight pretty much makes me want to kill myself, but i know that over time, i can do it if i just put my mind to it. it’ll be nice to finally be a “normal” size and not have to shop for special sizes anymore.

for the 10 trillionth time, i am hearing about marx and the communist manifesto in my political science class. after this semester, i will have taken 10 political science classes out of my entire college career. 10. good lord, what else more is there to say about this boring shit? i thought it was bad enough that i’ve taken 4 spanish classes in college alone, but 10?! i hate my major so much. it is SO boring and LAME. 98% of the time, we NEVER discuss law or any sort of legal shit. what the fuck was i thinking? why didn’t i pick something more interesting, like sociology?

ever since high school, i’ve believed that schools should have nap rooms. not a joke. colleges already have enough bullshit fees; they might as well tack on an extra $20 that would buy you your own cheap, personal pillow and blanket to keep in a room specifically set up for nap time. that extra cash would also cover your rent for a cot at any time. schools should have nap rooms in every building all over campus, and there should be at least 50 cots in each room. that sounds overwhelming, but it could totally work, and it’d totally be worth it. i mean, i could just go home and sleep, but that would require me waiting on the bus in the heat for an additional 25 minutes, riding to north campus, walking to my car, driving to my apartment, and THEN going to sleep. why not just put it all on campus? they could keep that room really cold, too. mmm. i love sleeping in the cold.

E - eating. i’m having real problems lately with not binging. i just miss snacking and eating whatever the hell i want so bad. i think i miss chicken fingers and lots of ranch the most. =( and greasy mcdonald’s french fries.

R - real world. i hate shows like the real world. there’s nothing “real” about it. participants live in a posh house, get drunk every night, and fuck each other. they don’t even have to pay the light bill. some “real” world.

I - igloos. up until i was 11 or so, i honestly thought eskimos still lived in igloos. i even thought all of texas must look like those horrible depictions you see in history books of the alamo.

N - nineties music, particularly 90’s alternative, is the best music out there, and i’m addicted to the stuff.

8 things? hmmm. 8 people will be harder to list than 8 things.

1) i’ve never read any of the harry potter books thoroughly, but i’ve fallen in love with the stories. i’m still working on order of the phoenix, i swear.

2) i’ve struggled with my weight my whole life, and until a month ago, i was the heaviest i’d ever been in my life all thanks to a diet of excessive fast food and ice cream consumption. i just ate pizza for dinner and used only 2 flex points while i was at it. so the f what? that’s why i love weight watchers…eat what you want, just don’t go crazy with it. anyways.

3) i ate my boogers until i was like, 12.

4) i used to record “sexy songs” from the radio (i.e., “take a bow” by madonna and “i’ll make love to you” by boyz 2 men) so i could make my barbies have sex to them. not a joke.

5) my apartment building sucks…note how i said BUILDING, not complex. the shittiest, skankiest people live in this building. my next-door neighbors party hardy, my upstairs neighbors have really loud sex, the girl upstairs lets her dog shit in my yard, the people in front of her play their music so loud, i can hear it over here, and the people across from me let their children run rampant all over the property. i hate my neighbors.

6) i’m absolutely terrified of ghosts and spirits and the supernatural. i believe ghosts and spirits exist all around us, but if i ever saw one, i’d probably fall down dead with fright. i think that’s why i love that stuff so much.

7) ever since i was 6 or so, i’ve been obsessed with cemeteries. i remember when my mom was working on jekyll island, we located a cemetery in the middle of nowhere that had a crypt of a girl who died in 1776. i thought it was the most awesome thing ever. i even took fake flowers to her grave to show respect.

8) i’ve had trichotillomania since i was 5 years old. it sounds uncommon…in fact, mozilla even has it red-lined for a spell check, but it’s spelled correctly. it’s a hair-pulling disorder, and millions of people suffer from it. i started with eyelashes, worked my way to my hair, and haven’t stopped since. it’s awful. it’s hard to stop…kind of like biting your nails. i didn’t become open about it until a couple years ago, when i discovered an LJ trich support group that really gave me the confidence to make others aware of this disorder.

i don’t know a lot of bloggers. oh well, i guess i’ll tag even the inactive blogs. tag team, back again.
