so i’m in douglas for the evening. i came home for tonight’s family dinner for my cousin and uncle’s birthdays. i went to shanda’s for a haircut, and of course, apple’s had more kittens. carli sue’s become quite the handful, and i really miss how sweet she used to be. i was very tempted to take another kitten home (an orange male this time), but i’ve pretty much decided against it. i just don’t want carli to hurt him. furthermore, i really don’t want to become a cat lady. that’s just creepy.

bek came with me to douglas. we’ve got to head out early tomorrow to work on homework, so we won’t have time to stop by these little shops in town, unfortunately. i was rather looking forward to spending money i don’t have on purses and Votive candle holders, but i guess it’ll have to wait for another time. ;P

sweeney todd is on TV. speaking of, i don’t think i ever posted pictures of me and ryan at halloween. we looked awesome, especially ryan. we had so much fun! i love doing things like that. it’s been a long time since i’ve dressed up seriously for halloween…a very long time. check out the photos under the cut.

well, my size 18 pants have been ridiculously baggy for a little while now, so i decided it was high time to head to old navy to step down a size (the last time i went down a size was probably in september). i bought THREE pairs of size 16 pants and one pair of L shorts (not XXL or XL…just L!) and a cute top to boot. i spent like $80 there, but i mean, that’s 3 pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, and a nice top, so it all ends up pretty good. those pants are usually $30 apiece, anyway.

i then went to tj maxx and found the cutest dress in a size 14. well, i’m just now getting into a 16, but i figured it was worth a shot. it fit! sooo…i got the dress. then nicole and i went to belk, where i used my gift card for a bottle of the givenchy perfume i’ve been wanting for so long. and then nicole found me a gorgeous size 16 dress that’s brown with silk straps and velvet and satin touches. it’s gorgeous…and it looked amazing. it was normally $129…i got it for $20. hells yes! and it’s a very formal dress, too, not just some church dress, so it’ll be great to wear to my richie cousin’s wedding in april.

so then i went to walmart and bought some hair dye along with my groceries, which i’m letting set in now. nicole went to mellow to pick up a medium kosmic karma pizza for us. mmm.

i have been absolutely unproductive this weekend (besides the fact that i now have 2+ bags of stuff to take to goodwill). i have lots of journal entries waiting to be written and i guess i’ll be pulling an all-nighter tomorrow on those. uh-oh. =( but man, i’m having a good time so far. i’m glad nicole’s here. but no more money spending, kt. none!

i’ll probably post pictures later on of myself in my new shit after my hair’s done.

ps: can’t you tell that i got paid last week? i mean, seriously, i would have never been able to put all this shit on my credit card (it’s back in the freezer in a block of ice again, anyway).

i was cleaning out the tank today before i leave for vacation, and you can imagine my surprise upon seeing 3 more baby fish. i kept wondering where on earth they came from since the only adult fish i have in the tank is a female who’s already had fry. once i started trying to pour the water out, i saw a SWARM of the things. i had to pour the water into my fish net so i could save them all. they looked like a pulp of flapping orange mush in the net. haha. so here ya go…more babies that the mama will probably dine on while i’m out of town. =P le sigh. i guess it’s for the best, though, i certainly can’t hold 40 fish in my baby biorb.

NOTE: at first, i babble mercilessly about my law school woes. then i post funny pictures. if you don’t read the rest, at least look at the freakin’ pictures. =P

i have nothing on my plate until january…well, besides my law school application to mercer. yes, you read that right: just to mercer. i’ve decided that as good a school at UGA’s law school is, i cannot bring myself to live further away from my family. mercer is in macon, which is a good 2 hours from home, but that’s as far away as i want to go. i swear, this whole thing would be a lot easier if i could bring thomas with me. stop rolling your eyes, people; it’s the truth. going somewhere new and scary is NOT fun when you’re alone. thomas is pretty much my family by now, anyway, and i can’t exactly bring my entire family (because that would be kind of…stupid and unrealistic?), he’s the only one i’d want to go with me. i don’t really even have to explain that one. it’s a duh.

so i’m scared of law school. i’ve talked this all over with my parents and they’re cool with me getting an MLS instead of going to law school if i decide to do that…but i know my dad wants me to at least spend a semester in law school so i can at least say i went and i tried. i understand that. but god, it sure is scary not knowing where i’ll be in a year. i hate not knowing. i hate thinking about it. it makes me sick to my stomach to think about it, actually. just staying here and getting my MLS would be so much easier…i wouldn’t have to move; i know my way around here, i know people here…who knows, maybe i’ll just hold off applying to law school until i get my master’s. i don’t fucking know anymore.

anyway. enough of that babbling. i hate thinking about that stuff because it’s so scary. i’m going to post some pictures for you that i stole from different websites. if you’ve got finals to go, i feel sorry for you, and i understand your pain. so do these guys. more under the cut…

• clean house. this includes all the stuff i didn’t do before, like the kitchen, the bathroom floor, and the bedroom. finish it all with a good vacuum.
• clean out the fish tank.
• wrap presents.
• sweep the porch.
• put up those lights outside.
• put up all the boxes that had crimmus shit in them.
• clean out some closet spots.
• take leftovers to goodwill.
• go to lane bryant for ma.
• buy rachel’s crimmus present.
• finally…go to douglas.

um…out of all those, i have finished cleaning for the most part. and i’ve cleaned the closet out and cleaned the fish tank as well.

and now, for your “AWWWL”-ing pleasure, i present to you…MY FOUR BABY FISHIES…and their mommy. =)

i thought only 3 fry had survived (i found 4 initially…i think she had 5 babies though, b/c the last time i cleaned out the tank, i found a dead baby fish), but when i found the 4th one while i was cleaning it out this time. he almost didn’t make it; i had drained all the water out when i found him in the rocks, flapping around! i gently picked him up with my fingers, though, and put him in the bowl with his siblings, so all is well. =)

yesterday, daddy bought me a baby biorb tank to house some fish. he was proud of me for my weight loss, so that was his present to me. i was pretty excited. i took it home and set it up and put the conditioner in the water and let it sit for 24 hours. today, i got my fish– two female platys, one sunset and one red mickey mouse– and a snail. i’m so excited! since my snail doesn’t have any algae to eat yet, i put a piece of zucchini in there for him to eat until he gets some real food. i have no idea what to name them, but i’m just glad to have something to care for. photos under the cut!

at first, i had several reactions:

1. poor dog.
2. the person who took this photo is not an asshole for calling the dog and/or getting it out of the rain.
3. i hate tropical storms/depressions/hurricanes now.

according to one theory we read about in aesthetics by this guy with the last name of bell, this photo has no aesthetic value because it manipulates emotions into pity and sadness.

after that thought, my mindset changed dramatically: perhaps the dog just wanted a bath.

well, it was an eventful day and a half. yeah, thomas and i didn’t stay the entire time in fernandina just because there’s honestly not THAT much to do during an entire weekend. we went to the beach as soon as we got there, then we showered and went downtown, only to find the book loft selling the deathly hallows for full price…eight hours too early! we were definitely surprised, and there was quite a line. i think they got in trouble for it, but i’m not sure. i can’t seem to find much online about it, except this article, but be warned: the ending has unnecessary spoilers. there’s also a picture of me here, asking the guy how much they were asking for copies of the book. haha. anyways, after that fiasco, we went to applebee’s and ate dinner. then we went to the puppy store, a favorite stop of mine everytime we’re in fernandina. then we killed time at the condo house. then we waited in line for the deathly hallows at walmart.

the next day, thomas and i went to the pool for a little while and then went downtown. we left not too long after that. i stayed at his house last night, and we watched a marathon of to catch a predator…que exciting!

well, there’s so much to say about my weekend, especially the highlight of it all– the mika concert last night. how do i sum this all up briefly? let’s see. well, jade got us to atlanta within 2 1/2 hours…she’s pretty much amazing. here’s a video of our silly escapades on the way up:

we got to center stage around 6:30 (the doors didn’t open till 8), and after an hour, we were grouchy and ready to get in the building. well, center stage didn’t exactly plan out the night’s events too well. once the doors opened, people were allowed in by groups at a time. jade and i were among the first group. we had our tickets scanned and went to the doors to the stage area, which were closed and guarded by security. apparently, we couldn’t go in yet. okay. well, they decided to let everyone else through the doors from the outside into the building…which led to inevitable crowding around the 3 closed and guarded doors to the stage area. jade and i began to ponder why in god’s name we’d even bothered waiting outside if, when those doors opened, everyone would be allowed to rush to the floor stage area at the same time. well, when the doors finally opened, we ended up getting decent standing area, so that was good. well, mika’s opening act came on, performed for about 45 minutes, and then there was the setup change. after about 30 minutes, some breakdancers came on stage, and i figured they would dance for a bit and mika would come out. no, wrong. they were cool, but they got old fast. after 10 minutes of them, the people started fooling around with the set again. mika didn’t hit the stage until nearly 45 minutes after i’d expected him to perform. i quickly forgot my frustrations, though, once he was onstage. he has a massive amount of energy, and his concert was SO fun. i was, as you can tell by the video, VERY excited to hear “big girl (you are beautiful).” i pretty much consider that song my anthem. i mean, i don’t know of any other songs dedicated to curvy women other than “fat bottom girls” by queen. the crowd was nowhere near the size of a dave matthews band concert, but it was pleasantly large. it was honestly one of the most fun concerts i’ve ever attended, and the encore was fuckin’ awesome, complete with bubbles, animal costumes, balloons, lollipop girls, big girls, and lollipops. lots of fun! you can see pictures of our mika concert here. once again, they go from newest to oldest, so make sure to start at the bottom to see them in order.

other atl stuff
today, annie, jade, and i all got up late and went to lenox to window shop. i ended up buying some eyeshadow in sephora, two of which were sephora brand and on sale for $2.50 apiece! i also was a little bad on my diet when i had a chocolixir drink from godiva. thanks, jade, for introducing me to dark chocolate heaven. mmm. we met up with brandon in the mall and sat and talked to him for a little while…had he come earlier, we would’ve had more time, but nope, he had hair to fix. blahblah. jade and i headed for valdosta around 4 today and got home near 8. some random atl pictures can be found here…and these are just in a weirdass order.

i had a really enjoyable trip. thanks to annie and jadehead for making it fun, and sorry everyone for making such a long entry…but i hope you enjoyed it.

well, it’s not for my computer, at least. so here are some pictures. most of them consist of thomas’ and my rainy saturday walk through the park, but the first two are pictures i took of the thick smoke that has been tormenting valdosta for the past 2 weeks. luckily, the rain sent the smoke another way, and when i got back into town today, i was breathing fresh air. =D
