i took care of some holiday shopping in atlanta, so beka’s presents are all taken care of. i’m really excited about what i’ve gotten her. i can’t ever wait till christmas for people to open their presents from me! i’ve still got several people to buy for, and fortunately, i made a bit of extra money during my class in macon when i sold my management book to a classmate, so i’m going to use that to pay for my dad’s present.

i’m working on extra ways lately to find money, which also means entering a contest where you come clean and confess about any impulse shopping sprees you may have had. you can win up to $33,000 in prizes just by confessing! i think i’ll talk about that on-a-whim ipod i bought nearly 3 years ago…i don’t regret my purchase, though. if you sign up and use my blog’s URL as the referral, i can win $500, which would be totally awesome. i have credit card bills to pay off, but who’m i kidding? that money would more than likely be spent on something i don’t need but want! story of my life, eh. even if you don’t want to confess about your shopping spree(s), check out the site; the stories are really funny.

here’s more information about the contest:

i should probably be reading articles for this bibliography right now, but somehow, facebook and blogging just seem more attractive. isn’t that how it always is, though?

i hate it when people don’t say “thank you” for things. i just handed this girl some headphones and she didn’t say “thank you.” it pisses me off.

i’m trying to think of christmas gifts for folks. i still need to buy emily a birthday present along with christmas gifts for daddy, grandma, beka, jacob, keegan, amanda, and rachel. several folks (grandma, bek, and rachel) are partially covered, but i don’t want to leave them with itty bitty presents and nothing more.

i think my parents are getting me wii fit for christmas. i’m kind of excited about it. it’s a pretty fun game, and while i’m willing to spend $50 on animal crossing, i’ve never been ready to spend nearly $100 on wii fit, so i’m glad they’re getting that for me. they also got me a really nice coat from the coat sale in douglas the other weekend. it’s a charcoal grey peacoat…i’m in love with it. i’m collecting jackets, it seems, lately. it’s kind of nice. i’m sure that my employer will give out some sort of promotional business gifts this year to cover any sort of gift debt to its employees. our work christmas party is this friday, but i haven’t decided whether or not i’m going to go. i RSVP-ed as a “yes,” but denise wants to hang out friday, and i have class on saturday, so i might just miss out on it and leave my plate as more for others to eat.

ANYWAY, maybe i should read about the digitization of libraries now…um, yay?

my dad got hired with a new company! it’s like a 20% pay decrease from his old salary, but hey, it’s a job. he just found out that he might be able to start as early as tomorrow or tuesday. he’ll be going to houston, texas to help out with the cleanup from ike with FEMA. how this new company got incorporated with FEMA, i don’t know, but i know he’s glad to have work. i’m kind of worried about how long he’ll be gone, though. this is the furthest away he’s been on the job in a loooong time.

in other news, when life gets really bad, just know this: you could always be tom hanks in castaway.

so i’m in macon in my hotel room. i’m up here this weekend for my MLIS 7000 class. most of my classes will be online except for this one and the capstone course i’ll take during my last semester. it’s not so bad. i’ve met some really nice people so far, and this one guy in my class looks like dwight schrute…no kidding. the program fed us pizza today and also hooked us up with some goodie bags. maybe they’re trying to make us feel more comfortable and happy so we can’t get away. lol. i don’t know.

anybody who knows me knows how much i love hurricane season. i am obsessed with it. so when tropical storm fay started heading to south georgia, i was SUPER excited…and then it came. and it was wet and windy and i had to work while it was going on and then i had to drive all the way to macon in this shitty weather. and suddenly, the fabulous fay wasn’t so fun anymore. i almost got in a wreck today driving up here. i was paying careful attention to my surroundings and speed due to the constant rain and heavy winds when a truck drove by, pulling a u-haul behind it. the trailer hit some sort of standing water, which in turn hit my windshield. it was already raining so hard, i could barely see, so that only added to the problem. there was nothing but a wall of water in front of me for only a few seconds, but it felt like a full minute; i could see nothing beyond it. scary stuff.

now for the important stuff. my hours at work increased by 10, so i’m gonna be working nearly 30 hours this semester. i’m pretty glad about that. i was starting to feel real lazy, especially now that my classes are online. this became an even bigger blessing upon learning yesterday that my dad was laid off. this came as a surprise to me, but my dad had been thinking it would happen for awhile since the company hasn’t been getting much work. our family’s going to be financially okay; we’ll just have to cut corners, get rid of some luxuries, and watch spending, of course. i’m going to see about taking out a loan to cover rent for the next 6 months or so along with my tuition. i canceled both my monthly weight watchers and WoW subscriptions…$55 saved. i stuck my credit card back in the freezer, and i’m going to look up information about MLIS scholarships soon since the deadlines for most of those are in march. we’re gonna be okay, it’s just a big change. i worry about my dad sitting around the house all day without something to do…he can’t stand to be bored. i really hope he can find work soon. i feel terrible for him, and i feel guilty for being such a huge financial burden on my family for so long. all i can do now, though, is just be much more mindful about spending and try to help my family out however i can.

man, i look like hell lately. i’m getting really fat again. not as fat as i was, but NOTICEABLY fatter nonetheless. it’s bad. my hair’s a constant frizz, and i’m breaking out like no one’s business. my straightener and pimple cream can’t even help me. i guess i’m just having an ugly week…eh, it happens. as for my weight, well, that’s just some stuff i need to get back to work on. well, less eating out means less bad food for me…so, yeah.

i guess that’s about all that’s going on lately. please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers…i worry about him and his emotions during this rough time.

it all goes back to money, doesn’t it? i was running deathly low on funds last week but got a surprise check in the mail from my aunt for graduation. i got some extra money this week, and next week, i get paid officially. i’m so terrible at budgeting my money that i end up charging stuff like crazy on my credit card by the middle of the month. i need to get some budget software or something so i can take better care of my funds. i get super spend-happy as soon as i get some money, i end up struggling soon after i get it. the whole time, i’m still wanting luxury things like an external hard drive and an ipod touch when in reality, my ultimate goal should be not having either one of these but instead having my credit card paid off. i’m officially pushing my credit limit now, and that’s kind of scary. ugh!

the bug man woke me up at 8 this morning. except it wasn’t 8; it was actually 9.  blah.

i weighed in this morning and it turns out i gained 3 pounds last week. i made some pretty poor food choices while we were in fernandina this past weekend, so i know that’s the reason…but it sure tasted good at the time. well, actually, it didn’t really taste as good as it felt to not worry about making a good choice. i just picked the bad choice and that was that; i was going to eat my greasy food, thank you very much. speaking of food, my kitchen lacks milk, cheese, bread, cereal that’s not stale, and yogurt. have i gone to walmart to take care of this? no. why? because i am lazy and poor. i wish VSU would hurry up with that orlando refund check. we’re all waiting around for our $100 that we spent in orlando over a month ago now.

i got a letter from the grad school yesterday suggesting that i re-take the GRE because my scores were below the minimum. that is sad. i’ve taken 3 standardized tests in less than a year; i’m so over it. i think i’ll tell them to suck it and accept my fucking scores just because my credentials can kick their credentials’ asses.

i gave 6 baby fish away last night to melissa. her mean goldfish instantly took after one of the babies and nipped its hind fin, so melissa put the goldfish in another tank. i think the baby is probably dead by now. oh well. there’s plenty more baby fish to get rid of.

i got the latest issue of EGM today in the mail. i’m always signing up for free subscriptions to magazines i’ll never read. i like magazines, but i usually just flip through them half-assedly or use them as toilet reading material. the only ones i really enjoy are the ones that are more expensive and would never be offered as a free subscription, like TIME or people. i have free subscriptions to bridal guide (i know, right? i just like to look at the pretty dresses), marie claire, GFW, EGM, and spin. i subscribed to lucky for a year when my cousin was selling magazine subscriptions for his school. and honestly, i don’t really enjoy any of those magazines. i did, however, flip through the new EGM and noticed how all its non-gaming advertisements were targeted towards males. male razors, male cologne that will appeal to the ladies, blahblah. it’s kind of amusing how that works out. and oh, they said to expect animal crossing for the wii in japan this year. but i think that was a duh. when it comes out over here (if it even does), it’ll be like mario galaxy day all over again. speaking of, i never finished mario galaxy. maybe i should jump on that sometime soon. i really suck at video games.

this is a long babble. i wonder what i’ll do today? maybe i’ll go back to sleep for another hour or two just because i can. oooh.

well, i feel like a dumbass.

but at least i get money out of it!

airborne, the shit i have sworn by for over 2 years now, has been slammed and settled with a class-action lawsuit of $23 million. according to the judgment, there’s “no credible evidence” that airborne can prevent colds. the lawsuit was based upon false advertisement.

anyway, so now you can claim money for up to 6 boxes of the stuff, which is good since i’ve bought at least that or more, and i think i might e-mail the folks and ask them if i can ship them the plastic tubes i have of airborne itself as proof of purchase in order to get some more cash. seriously, now, that’s some expensive shit. i also have kids’ cherry-flavored airborne that you place on your tongue (it tastes god-awful). i’ll probably send that shit in, too. money, money, money.

The preferred proof of purchase is a copy of the original receipt that identifies the Airborne Product purchased and the amount paid for it. But if you don’t have a copy of the original receipt, you can also submit other proof that you bought the Products, such as an online order form, a receipt provided post-sale by the store (even a hand-written one), or a detailed credit card statement. The essential thing is for you to provide evidence that you bought a specific product and how much you paid for it.

won’t the barcodes do justice? they usually do when you have to provide proof of purchase for other shit, like some free stuff you get from the cereal box.

# If you do not have a Proof of Purchase, you can still file a Proof of Claim for up to 6 boxes of Airborne Products. You will get a refund that is based on the average retail price of the Product: $10.50 per box of Seasonal, $2.75 per box for Gummi, and $6.99 per box for all other Airborne Products.
# If you have proofs of purchase for some Products but not for all that you bought, you may file a claim for refund of all Products for which you do have proofs of purchase, plus up to 6 additional Products that you bought but for which you don’t have a proof of purchase.

…sweet. so i literally could make…*thinks* i know i’ve bought like 4 of these bottles before and i don’t have any proof of it. i have 2 more bottles on hand and then 2 boxes of the kids’ stuff. so that’s approximately…*be patient, kt is bad at math* $56 i can get back. wow. believe i’ll file a claim today before that $23 million is gone.

it’s really funny how i get comments from “people” saying “very interesting post! i add your blog to my google reader!” and shit like that on the most random, uninteresting entries (ex: the one where i raved about bread and honey, for god’s sake). i know they’re spam, but i approve them anyway.

this morning, i dragged myself out of bed and walked all the way to class on the 3rd floor of west hall to find that it had been canceled. that class was my ONLY motivation for going to school today, so i decided not to go to my other classes. probably not the best idea, especially since i’ve missed like 10 days in my democracy class…but i still have an A in there anyway, so whatever.

so i decided to take the day off. well, not from work (that’s at 4), but from school. so i got back to my apartment and picked up some stuff since my parents are coming on saturday. i’ll probably vacuum tonight or tomorrow. my plans for the weekend are spending friday night here in valdosta and more than likely going to see the other boleyn girl with jess. saturday morning, my parents will be here around 10:30 and we’ll do whatever. later that afternoon, i’ll head on home through sunday evening. and sunday evening, tessie and i will probably study for our democracy class midterm…that is, if she’s not still sick as a dog.

i finally received payment for my last auction 5 days after the buyer had bought it. i had to send them a friendly little reminder, especially since i’d noticed they were still getting feedback yesterday from people saying how quick their payment was received. so i got my payment and shipped the package today. i hope everybody gets their stuff in good condition. i think i used more bubble wrap on those bottles of perfume than i used on the PS3.

i think i might spend saturday evening filing my taxes online. mama and daddy usually just send mine along with theirs to let the accountant do them, but i think i’m just going to do them myself because i really would like my return check to go ahead and come in so i can put it all on my credit card. i’ll probably owe the government about $50 since payperpost didn’t deduct any of my earnings for taxes. but oh well. i also found out that the $105 given to each mock trial student for food by the school (that is, to those who went to orlando) won’t be reimbursed for another 2-3 weeks…well over a month after we competed. it’s kind of annoying, but i guess it’s good because i know i’ll probably be broke as shit in 3 weeks, anyway. i’ll really be needing that $100. i spent about $60 in orlando, so the school basically paid me $40 to be the timekeeper. rock on.

i set my text message ringtone to dwight saying, “yeah, and then they make you drive them to church the next morning, like gas ain’t free!” it cracks me up everytime.

i really guess that’s about it. jess and i are probably gonna pay tessie a visit this afternoon since she’s having her first fun bout of morning sickness. i got a lot of baby books for her from the library yesterday…i hope they’ll help her out, even if some of them are a little outdated.

it’s cold in my apartment! argh!

well, my size 18 pants have been ridiculously baggy for a little while now, so i decided it was high time to head to old navy to step down a size (the last time i went down a size was probably in september). i bought THREE pairs of size 16 pants and one pair of L shorts (not XXL or XL…just L!) and a cute top to boot. i spent like $80 there, but i mean, that’s 3 pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, and a nice top, so it all ends up pretty good. those pants are usually $30 apiece, anyway.

i then went to tj maxx and found the cutest dress in a size 14. well, i’m just now getting into a 16, but i figured it was worth a shot. it fit! sooo…i got the dress. then nicole and i went to belk, where i used my gift card for a bottle of the givenchy perfume i’ve been wanting for so long. and then nicole found me a gorgeous size 16 dress that’s brown with silk straps and velvet and satin touches. it’s gorgeous…and it looked amazing. it was normally $129…i got it for $20. hells yes! and it’s a very formal dress, too, not just some church dress, so it’ll be great to wear to my richie cousin’s wedding in april.

so then i went to walmart and bought some hair dye along with my groceries, which i’m letting set in now. nicole went to mellow to pick up a medium kosmic karma pizza for us. mmm.

i have been absolutely unproductive this weekend (besides the fact that i now have 2+ bags of stuff to take to goodwill). i have lots of journal entries waiting to be written and i guess i’ll be pulling an all-nighter tomorrow on those. uh-oh. =( but man, i’m having a good time so far. i’m glad nicole’s here. but no more money spending, kt. none!

i’ll probably post pictures later on of myself in my new shit after my hair’s done.

ps: can’t you tell that i got paid last week? i mean, seriously, i would have never been able to put all this shit on my credit card (it’s back in the freezer in a block of ice again, anyway).

updated now with pics behind the cut.

i swear, that just makes me think of the office, office space…think of a miserable workplace in a movie or tv show and you’ve got it. my job isn’t miserable; it’s really not, but c’mon, “staff development day.” but at least that means no real work and i get paid. so that’s definitely the bright side.

i should be getting ready. am i? no, i’m blogging. i’ll probably go to work with wet hair since it’s raining, anyway.

i’ve got 3 listings on ebay and only one has had a bid so far. i don’t think it’s gross to sell used perfume on ebay, especially when the bottle’s nearly full.

i wish i could sleep in this morning. i really love the rain.

i got one journal entry done last night out of my schoolwork. only one. and it was 3 freakin’ pages long, and that wasn’t even the longest article i had to read and write about. blaaaahhh. they’re due next week, but i want to get them over with so i’m not stuck doing them all at the last minute with 2 midterms to study for, as well. it’s hard to believe it’s already midterm, but it is.

i really don’t know what else to say except that i should probably get off my bum and get ready.

it’s just another day…another day.

recap of today

today was actually pretty uneventful. i ended up going with my aunt to wally world. after that, we watched the number 23 on tv. it wasn’t too great. then i went back to the house and did my parents’ laundry and cleaned the kitchen. we ate dinner. mrs. ware came over for awhile. cleaned the kitchen again. folded laundry. ate some ice cream. here i am.

walmart had yellow tail merlot on sale today for $5.90 for a smaller bottle. i’m ALWAYS seeking out the smaller bottles of the stuff and usually when i find them, they’re $8 or more, so i bought one. woot for saving a bit of money.

i’m pretty excited about tuesday and wednesday. jess and i are cooking ravioli for everyone on tuesday and on wednesday night, she and i are attending a yoga class at the college. what i’m NOT excited about is work on monday…it’s “staff development day,” which means i have to sit through a bunch of workshops and prove i know how to work in an effing library. but whatever. i have no idea when nicole will come over to valdosta this weekend since she has a soccer game to coach on saturday in moultrie. she might come saturday night, which i guess would be best, but i’d like if she could come friday, too, because i think that jess, david, greg, matt, and i are all getting together to do whatever then. it’ll probably involve a dollar theater movie, some food, and maybe a teensy bit of alcohol. maybe. i don’t know how well that’ll react with meds. =P

omg, COPS is coming out with a 20th anniversary DVD on tuesday! wow!

i’m trying to decide what to do tonight. i have a lot of reading for conspiracy theories to do, and he requires us to turn in thoughtful summaries of the crap in journals before midterm, so that’ll be the week after next. i’ve been thinking i should go ahead and do them this week so i’m not overloaded later on. the question is, should i do them now or wait till tomorrow? i could always go to bed early again. =O that was pretty fun. =)

i have 3 perfumes that i’m rather tired of, and i think i’m going to sell them all on ebay. i’ve got britney spears fantasy, britney spears midnight fantasy, and armani mania. the last 2 are pretty much full bottles. i want to buy some givenchy very irresistible (or is it very irresistible sensual? argh, i’d know it if i smelled it) but i’d prefer to get rid of the other fragrances first. i also have a coach CD wallet i need to ebay, as well. i guess i’ll go on an ebay listing spree when i get home. i hope people don’t mind buying used bottles of perfume. i know i wouldn’t give a shit if it would save me $30.

america’s most wanted makes me so damned scared to live. i mean, really. no wonder i was so paranoid of strangers when i was little.

GRE woes, seahorses, and other randomness

i take the GRE tomorrow. i’m pretty damned nervous. there is math on there i haven’t seen since i was in 11th grade. this will be the 3rd standardized test i’ve taken within less than a year. argghhh. i’ve been pretty confident so far that my GRE scores won’t prevent me from getting into grad school, but now i’m really starting to worry. i just don’t want to be a failure at life…is that so much to ask? i think that’s my biggest fear in the world.

so happy singles awareness day, everyone. i spent my day in class and then at work…but thank god for my friends and family. daddy picked out a valentine and wrote a sweet note in it and i got it the other day in the mail. it made me teary-eyed. and then tonight, justin left a single pink rose on my car windshield while i was at work. those 2 actions both mean a lot to me right now.

i would study for the GRE, but i guess it’s pretty much useless by now. it’s a computer-based test. wow, right? that’s definitely going to be a new experience. i should be done by about 1pm or so tomorrow…let’s hope. i think you can go on to the next section as soon as you finish one of them. that’s pretty cool. but that’s my understanding, at least.

i’ll be going to douglas tomorrow afternoon and returning sunday night. although the library is closed on monday, we’re having a staff development day, so i have to go to that. um, woohoo. in other news, i somehow received 7 hours of comp time last month. i don’t know how that happened, but i sure as hell wasn’t going to ask. lol.

did you know that seahorses mate for life? they scorn other potentials once they’ve found their mate. awwl. i just learned that on pbs.

it would be really cool if you could get into grad school just by revealing a lot of useless trivia. i watch so many of these random nature shows, i know a lot of weird, random facts about animals, but i can’t really recall any of them right now. so i guess that defeats that purpose, huh.

i hope the school pays us soon our $105 soon for the mock trial trip. we were all alloted a certain amount of money for food and such while we were down there, but we had to pay out of pocket at the time only to be reimbursed later. i spent maybe $60 while i was in orlando…and i actually did it purposely so i could milk some extra cash out of the school. lol.

i have fallen in love with miss meringue cookies. 4 of them for 2 points…and they taste like great, big, lucky charms marshmallows. mmm.

baby seahorses are so cute. oh, wow. they’re nearly as cute as my baby fish…

maybe i should just go to bed. i go to bed relatively early lately. i guess that’s good. i have a 7:00 rise-and-shine time tomorrow.

so a couple weeks ago, the bottom fell off my car. and then it wouldn’t start. and the battery tested fine, so we didn’t know wtf was going on. well, i was trying to leave brooke’s tonight and it wouldn’t start again. last time it wouldn’t turn over, it eventually did so after a few minutes, but this time, it wouldn’t give.

so brooke and i pull out the jumper cables and then don’t know wtf to do. when i have car troubles, my first instinct is to call my daddy. well, he’s more than likely asleep because he gets up at 5am. so i know i need to call a male friend. i call ryan h. no answer. i call stu. no answer. i call greg. alas!

so greg coaches me through the cable connection process. i know it’s really not hard to do, i just really wanted to make sure i was doing it right because i’m sorry, i really don’t feel like dying from electrical shock or anything. and my car got started and it was freezing cold and i was just really glad to drive it home.

brooke and i went to several different places tonight. i had to run a couple errands for mama at petsmart and publix, so i did that. we went to old navy and didn’t find jack. we went to tj maxx and didn’t find jack. but then we went to target, and the fun began. i found the greatest pair of silver sparkly converse slip-ons. i was so excited. ohmygod, i look over at them right now and i get giddy inside. lol. it was my valentine’s day present to myself. then we went to kohl’s and guess what i found for $10? a DUNDER MIFFLIN t-shirt! ahhh! i was so excited. so i totally know what i’m wearing tomorrow. =D

then brooke came back here and i cooked some stir-fry and it was delicious. and i should probably wash some more clothes. it seems like laundry never ends.

i got a valentine from my grandma in the mail yesterday, and i got one today in the mail from my parents. my daddy picked out the valentine, i later found out, and he wrote a really sweet message inside. it’s probably the best valentine i’ve ever gotten. it made me tear up.

it’s super cold tonight, so i’m about to bring my plants in. everybody cross your fingers that my car will start tomorrow morning…argh.

how funny that 15 hours ago, i was lamenting how i had nothing to talk about, and now i have so much to say. lol. oh, what a difference a day makes. =)

i made 3 trips to kohl’s to buy some bras. the first 2 times were ridiculous because the line was just…well, absurd. even though the store had been open since 4am, when i was there at 10am, the line was still wrapped around the store. so i came back this evening and bought bras. well, actually, they’re a christmas present from my mother. =P but yay for new bras!

i finished off my grandma’s present and my mom’s present. i got part of rachel’s, i got amanda’s taken care of. i still need to buy for daddy and keegan. and, of course, friends who want to trade presents. i love presents, but i hope there are select few friends who want to exchange gifts. i’m not an ungrateful bitch, i swear, but ppp money doesn’t come in till a month from now, of course. =P

i got some things for myself today. i got 2 boatneck tops from old navy for $10 apiece, and i got a pair of jeans for $15. i ended up buying a pair this morning that i already had, and i didn’t realize there were different washes until christine and i went back tonight, so i bought a different pair and plan on taking the original pair back. so yep. i got a new creme brulee yankee candle for half off its original price…it smells like heaven and a half. i bought austin powers 1&2 on dvd for $3 apiece (i hated goldmember). i also got ratatouille for $12. niiice. thomas bought me the office season 2 on dvd. 8 hours of the office love for $15? amazing deal! so i rather racked up today, but i had to stop myself from going overboard because i really do need to finish christmas shopping first. what on earth can i buy for my daddy?!

i’ve been up since 5am. i finished that awful paper. i haven’t been back to sleep.

1. i get paid tomorrow (thank GOD, because i am broker than i thought i was!)

2. my group got an A on our hate crime legislation paper (he said it was an overall “very good” paper, well-written and reviewed and all that jazz. yes! i needed a good grade in that class)

3. i am nearly done with my trial notebook; it hasn’t been as hard as i’d anticipated it to be.

on the downside…

1. i am poor until tomorrow. please pray that no debit card transactions go through tonight at midnight.

2. i still have a 12-page paper due on friday by 5pm that i haven’t even researched. at least it’s a maximum of 12 pages…i think.

i’ve blogged about this before, and i’ll blog about it again. i’m sure jade & all my other retail-working friends hate it…but i love black friday. black friday is the day after thanksgiving when many stores open their doors super early to offer amazing sales to help people kick-start their holiday shopping. i think i like it so much because it’s an absolute rush…even when there’s nothing too impressive to buy at walmart, i still like to get up early and go just for the crowds. i’ve seen people fight over stuff before…that’s probably my favorite part. but i digress. black friday 2007 will happen on november 23 this year. since today’s november 1st, the ads of more and more stores will start being leaked online since most of the ads show up in the thanksgiving day newspaper. instead of checking every single website everyday to find the hottest deals, i much prefer to visit a black friday website that consolidates every ad into one website. cool, huh?

well, black-friday.net does just that. because i’m usually in my small hometown for thanksgiving, i’ll be there the day after, as well, so i pay special attention to the walmart ads. some stores’ ads aren’t available just yet on the website, so you can input your e-mail address so they’ll e-mail you once the ad is posted. i really like that idea! i think i might put mine in for best buy, kohl’s, and target so i can be aware of the best deals as soon as they’re available, because as you ALL know, i am a kohl’s freak! haha. one of the most unique things about this website is their online shopping. they offer direct links to each product so you can buy them online for the black friday price (you’ll have to wait until november 23 for the best price, of course!) without standing in line or battling crowds at 5am. i’m sure my mother would love this feature because she always sends me to do her black friday shopping and quite frankly, i’d rather shop for myself then! i’m going to send her to black-friday.net so she can do her own thing there. what a great find!

i just posted this as a myspace bulletin, and i’m gonna post it here, too. so READ IT!

Hey, everyone–

I need a favor. =D If any of you have any Disney DVDs you’ve bought within the past year and a half or so, you all probably have the Disney Movie Rewards slip inside your DVD case. If you all aren’t using this code, could you please send it my way? I’ve found some really neat stuff on there that’s free, and I’ve already entered in all the Disney DVDs I own…I want more! Haha. There have got to be a lot of unused codes going around out there, so send them to me in a message on here if you don’t want them!

on the movie rewards site, they have this ariel scene replica that’s like, 3100 points, and i only have 300 right now…but man, oh MAN, do i want this thing! i figure that a lot of people never redeem these rewards, so i’m going to take advantage of them. when i go to work today, i’m going to search every disney dvd we have to see if the papers are still in the case for codes to use. come on, people, this is like jade’s coke rewards search. i want this thing! e-mail me your codes at catie[at]skankage[dot]com. i’m sure y’all know to add the @’s and the .’s where they belong. ;P

“black friday” is the name given for the day after thanksgiving, when people start their christmas shopping with crack-of-dawn sales offered by many retail stores.

here’s a text version of walmart’s black friday ad. it was put up earlier on the website and walmart requested that it be removed, so apparently, it’s the real deal. nothing looks particularly amazing, if you ask me. i REALLY would like to have the office on dvd for $10, but i don’t know if it’s worth getting up for. i still kind of like the thrill of waking up at 4am and watching people fight over stuff in walmart. it’s great stuff.

i just want to spread the word. i recently found a website called the silver jewelry club. this place offers really pretty silver jewelry for “free.” well, it’s not really free. you pay shipping and handling, which is about $6, and when i got my package today, i saw that shipping only cost them a little over 50 cents. regardless, paying $6 for a pretty piece of sterling silver jewelry is NOT a bad deal at all. they offer new stuff every 15 minutes, and once those 15 minutes are up, a new piece of jewelry comes along. i’ve been on the lookout for christmas gifts already, and i found one the other day for my mother. i figured, well, i’ll order this pendant with a chain, and if it ends up being a crappy piece, i’ll keep it and i’ve only lost $10 (the chain is like, $4 extra). no big whoop. well, i got it in the mail today, and i must say, it’s VERY pretty…exactly as shown on the website. the piece has real garnets and citrine stones in it, or so the place claims…i think i might get it checked out by my jewelry-working friends just in case…but either way, it’s super pretty, and i think mama will really like it. i only spent $10 on a piece that’s normally $50 or more. yeah, buddy. so i’ve tried it, and it’s for real: the silver jewelry club isn’t a hoax. they don’t send you cheap, flimsy jewelry. i’m rather pleased by the service and am especially happy about the price i paid for such a pretty necklace. go check them out!
