this, of course, came from perez hilton, my source for all wacky celebrity stuff. apparently, dane cook faced eviction after not cleaning up his dog’s shit. he countered the suit with the claims that because his muses, john belushi and steve martin, used to reside in the building, he can’t leave the apartment for fear it will cause him some sort of ‘comedy block’ and ruin his career.

really, dane cook? REALLY? why didn’t you just pick up your dog shit to begin with? is it THAT hard?

anyway, perez is now reporting that cook settled with the apartment owners and is now cook is now living in a $7 million house in the hills. so much for those “muses,” huh?

you guys know how ridiculous i am about hurricane season. well…check this out. it was an advertisement on the weather channel’s website. you can pretty much make your own hurricane, controlling the wind speeds, amount of debris, etc. it was pretty fun. enjoy.

alex just called me to give me the sad news that leroi moore died today. leroi was the dave matthews band’s saxophonist. not much information is being given about his death other than that he succumbed today to injuries suffered in an ATV accident on june 30th.

ever since i was 14, the dmb has been my favorite band. i’ve gone through a lot of stuff with their music, and when you really become attached to a band, their members become extremely familiar and close to your heart…even if you don’t even know them.

of dave, stefan, carter, and boyd, leroi’s always been my favorite. each band member is incredible in his own way, but i’ve always admired how talented leroi was with various wind instruments.

i don’t know what dmb’s gonna do. i’m sure they’ll go on just fine, but things won’t be the same. i am really, really gonna miss his presence. my heart hurts so much for these guys and leroi’s family and friends.

anybody who’s ever watched the jerry springer show knows just how much of a joke it is. back when the show first started, the episode themes were still outlandish yet somewhat believable. now, though, notsomuch. they’ve added puppets and mexican wrestlers to the show for the effect, and they play music when people are fighting now. of course, these fights aren’t the outrageous, bloody fights of the mid-90’s, but there are still lots of angry words, fists, articles of clothing, and mens gold watches flying everywhere.

when i was 11, my mom and i used to watch this show every day. i remember one day, she was outside watering the plants, and the show was starting. so i opened my window and shouted to her, “MAMA, JERRY’S ON!!!” and she scolded me, saying, “do NOT scream that! i don’t want the neighbors to know we watch that junk!” hahaha.

this show was one of the few exciting cable discoveries i made when i moved to valdosta 2 years ago. jerry springer is utterly ridiculous, but i guess it never grows old with me.

seth rogen and james franco were effing amazing. franco plays a superb stoner and according to interviews, he doesn’t even smoke. there were a LOT of action sequences in the film– something i normally don’t like. i wasn’t too crazy about those scenes, but they didn’t kill the movie for me. there were so many random quotes in the film that i loved but can’t for the life of me remember. beka and i are gonna see it again when it comes to the dollar theater.

i think i would marry either one of those men.

wild adventures. pizza. the office. world of warcraft (no joke). bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and toast. that is how i have spent my day. i have probably gained another 5 pounds, but wow, dinner was great.

so i broke down and bought world of warcraft today. being around thomas for over 2 years now, i’ve gained a fair amount of knowledge (okay, a tiny amount) of the game and the stuff that goes with it. i’ve made 2 characters before, and they didn’t go very far, but they looked pretty cool. either way, i got a wild hair and bought the game. i’m actually pretty excited about playing. while the actual battles in RPGs get on my nerves, the ones in WoW aren’t as ridiculous…meaning that you can actually see the thing die and it’s dead in less than a minute (well, that’s just my experience, at least). you don’t shock it, wait 30 seconds for it to shock you and you take damage, 30 seconds later, you shock it again…etc. that shit. i hate that. anyway, i just want to build a character up. i get my kicks out of that kind of shit in the sims and animal crossing, so here’s hoping i’ll dig this game, too.

i’ve been waiting on this effing patch to download for the past 5 hours, though. 97% done downloading though…finally.

it’s really funny to hear levi cuss out people on WoW: “why don’t you go ahead and eat that last buff, motherfucker?”/”yeah, you like that.”

the bug man woke me up at 8 this morning. except it wasn’t 8; it was actually 9.  blah.

i weighed in this morning and it turns out i gained 3 pounds last week. i made some pretty poor food choices while we were in fernandina this past weekend, so i know that’s the reason…but it sure tasted good at the time. well, actually, it didn’t really taste as good as it felt to not worry about making a good choice. i just picked the bad choice and that was that; i was going to eat my greasy food, thank you very much. speaking of food, my kitchen lacks milk, cheese, bread, cereal that’s not stale, and yogurt. have i gone to walmart to take care of this? no. why? because i am lazy and poor. i wish VSU would hurry up with that orlando refund check. we’re all waiting around for our $100 that we spent in orlando over a month ago now.

i got a letter from the grad school yesterday suggesting that i re-take the GRE because my scores were below the minimum. that is sad. i’ve taken 3 standardized tests in less than a year; i’m so over it. i think i’ll tell them to suck it and accept my fucking scores just because my credentials can kick their credentials’ asses.

i gave 6 baby fish away last night to melissa. her mean goldfish instantly took after one of the babies and nipped its hind fin, so melissa put the goldfish in another tank. i think the baby is probably dead by now. oh well. there’s plenty more baby fish to get rid of.

i got the latest issue of EGM today in the mail. i’m always signing up for free subscriptions to magazines i’ll never read. i like magazines, but i usually just flip through them half-assedly or use them as toilet reading material. the only ones i really enjoy are the ones that are more expensive and would never be offered as a free subscription, like TIME or people. i have free subscriptions to bridal guide (i know, right? i just like to look at the pretty dresses), marie claire, GFW, EGM, and spin. i subscribed to lucky for a year when my cousin was selling magazine subscriptions for his school. and honestly, i don’t really enjoy any of those magazines. i did, however, flip through the new EGM and noticed how all its non-gaming advertisements were targeted towards males. male razors, male cologne that will appeal to the ladies, blahblah. it’s kind of amusing how that works out. and oh, they said to expect animal crossing for the wii in japan this year. but i think that was a duh. when it comes out over here (if it even does), it’ll be like mario galaxy day all over again. speaking of, i never finished mario galaxy. maybe i should jump on that sometime soon. i really suck at video games.

this is a long babble. i wonder what i’ll do today? maybe i’ll go back to sleep for another hour or two just because i can. oooh.

i recently decided i wanted a clip from the office to sound whenever i receive a text, so i googled “the office sound clips” and found a link to this site. ohhhmygod! they offer every office clip you can imagine, and you can sort them by who said what and what episode it was in, all that jazz. i’ve downloaded like 40. i think everytime i get a text, it’s gonna be stanley saying, “364 more days until the next pretzel day.”

in other news, i have a 3:30 midterm and reading journals due for the same class all at the same time. have i studied? no. have i finished the journals? i have 2 left…2 pages each. so i’m going to try to read this crap at work and come home at 1 and type it all up really quick. then i’m going to study my tail off the best i can until 3pm. wish me luck…midterm’s 20%. this class is kicking my butt so far. =(

in other news, we’ve got an 80% chance of storms tomorrow. we’re gonna drown!

i’m really excited for this film so far! sam mendes (director of american beauty and kate’s husband) is directing it. this will be the first pairing of leonardo dicaprio and kate winslet since titanic 11 years ago. they have tremendous on-screen chemistry, and i really anticipate seeing them playing an unhappy couple with troubles rather than a lovesick duo on a doomed ship. i first heard about this film several months back and i just now saw a few photos from the film on google images. leo and kate look amazing, and i’m super excited about this. i really need to read the book fully before i see the film, though; i started it once i first heard about the movie’s production, but i didn’t finish it. oh, i’m so excited for this film!

before turmoil erupted on here yesterday, i was planning to blog about this, but i’ve postponed doing so until now. so here goes.

RENT is ending. yes, the musical near and dear to my heart is ending its 12-year broadway stay. the nederlander will go up for sale and some other musical will take its place. RENT will now be able to be performed in high schools and colleges everywhere, which is rather exciting, but broadway will forever be changed.

what’s happening is really not THAT big a deal because it doesn’t mean the show is over forever. while the show will still tour, it will no longer have a permanent home and the RENT lotteries are over. since i don’t live anywhere near new york city, it’s really not that big a deal to me, but i can see why RENTheads everywhere are so sad. to many, the nederlander is a second home. many have spent countless hours inside and outside that theatre, waiting for the show to begin or to meet a cast member. if i lived in new york, i would probably be one of those people.

what saddens me, i guess, is the fact that new york will now be RENT-less. not that it really should matter to me because i’ve only been twice, but the ads for RENT, whether you’ve seen it or not, have become somewhat of a new york city staple, and now they’ll be gone forever, too.

oh, well…we all knew it would happen some day. just 10 years on broadway is always a big deal, so RENT’s broadway demise was inevitable.

i haven’t talked about sweeney todd at all since thomas, lindsey, greg, and i saw it on new year’s day in tallahassee, and it certainly deserves some blog love. i know jade is aching to see it, and i understand her current misery (for some reason, it hasn’t come to the valdosta theater yet. wtf?!), so i’m going to cut this entry as not to spoil any sweeney goodness.
